Temporary exhibition
Special project ‘Matisse Remix’
18 June - 28 September
On the museum’s third floor, contemporary artists continue the dialogue with the ‘Les Fauves Russes’ of the early 20th century. This art space explores how the ideas and techniques of French Fauvism and Post-Impressionism take on new relevance in the 21st century.
The walls are adorned with paintings, tapestry works and vibrant stained glass by Kirill Manchunsky. Igor Skaletsky extends the Fauvists’ colour experiments across large-scale canvases, while a series of works by Varvara Vyborova offers a glimpse into the artist’s studio. The exhibition also includes specially commissioned vases created by Katya Bochavar and Kirill Manchunsky at the Dymov Ceramics manufactory.
